  1. How do you evaluate the work/ministries of pastors you would oversee as a senior pastor? For example what criteria or tools have you used (or would you use) to evaluate their job performance?
  2. As the senior pastor, would you consult or discuss with others if there was a performance problem with one of the other pastors. If so who?
  3. Have you terminated the employment of a staff person (church staff or pastor). If so, describe the process of the action taken. Would you fire someone if they were not connecting to the people they were hired to minister to?
  4. From what you have learned about the youth programs (Junior High through College) at CGBC, what are areas of strengths and what are some recommendations for improvement?
  5. In your application response, the doctrine of the church is important to you. Indeed, the doctrine of the church will color everything you do as a pastor. You believe that the doctrine of the church is “under attack.” What is the nature of the attack, and what are the essential points of a sound expression of this doctrine?
  6. Tell us more about the specifics of your discipleship program (for lack of a better term). Would you be mentoring our church leaders who in turn would mentor others? What have you done in the past?
  7. Describe the process your mentors used in discipling you?
  8. Besides discipleship, what other “programs” at our church would you lend your support to? What do you value most? What does lending your support look like? Please be specific.
  9. How do you define the difference between exegetical and expository preaching?
